Via een online enquette denkt Kotaku te weten dat Guitar Hero IV je de kans geeft om te spelen als de digitale versie een bekende rockster. Sting, Ozzy Osbourne, Ted Nugent, Billy Corgan, Jimi Hendrix, Travis Barker, Hayley Williams en Zak Wylde zouden allemaal als avatars aanwezig zijn. Hierboven inderdaad een foto van Billy Corgan in een motion capture kostuum, volgens de geruchten tijdens een sessie voor precies dit spel. Qua muziek kunnen we volgens dezelfde enquette rekenen op nummers van Korn, The Doors, Interpol, System of a Down en, eindelijk, Tool!
